Frederic Remington (1861-1909), The Rocky Mountain man was a trapper and explorer who played a significant role during the North American fur trade peak of the 1830s and 1840s. He was a heroic figure and was later replaced in the public imagination by the cowboy. The "Mountain Man" bronze sculpture depicts a thrilling moment in the daily life of a trapper and his horse as they successfully navigate a treacherous slope.
