Hermann Kern (Slavic , 1838-1912) was an academic painter and was one of the most popular Austrian Genre Painters of his time and court painter at the court of Franz Josef I in Vienna. The Instrument Maker depicts a luthier working on a violin in his workshop. Medium: Oil on Panel. Signed "Kern H" on lower left and signed with his initials. Measurements: Unframed 21×29 Framed: 25" x 33"
