Private Museum Liquidation of Knives & Swords
Lot 48:
US Civil War era knife belonging to a member of the Confederate States Army. The blade appears to be backwards. The owner of the knife carved "Civil War" into the handle, along with a V, and "US Armed Forces." The owner also engraved dreamlike loopy, flowery doodles all over the blade. This is a deeply thoughtful and personal piece. Though the soldier is gone, his engravings made in moments of peace remain. Overall length: 8.5 inches. The blade measures 4.5 inches and the handle measures 4 inches.
