Fine Royal Vienna octagonal porcelain portrait plate; the decorated border in gilt enamel, cobalt ground and raised white and blue enamel centering figural scene of a winged nude fairy seated on a rock ledge beside the water, titled “Psyche am Meer” or Psyche by the Sea. Signed C. Forster in gilt to the front and Bindenschild (bee hive) mark to the back with remnants of title. Approx. 9.5 in.
Condition: Plate is in very good condition. Does not appear to have seen any usage other than display purposes. There is minor wear to the gold enameling commensurate with age.
