Reed and Barton silverplate hot water kettle on burner stand. Stamped twice MFG & PLATED BY REED & BARTON 3630 PATENT APPLIED FOR. Approx. overall height 13.75 in.
Condition: Kettle and stand are in overall very good condition. There are areas of oxidation – these do appear to brighten with polish. There are areas with polish residue to crevices such as above the scrolled legs. We would recommend a thorough cleaning/polishing. The pegs are in very condition and the wear is commensurate; the one peg with locking mechanism does work. There is an intentional ‘well’ to one side for the lid to rest when open – preventing the finial on lid from striking the body (see images 15, 16 and 17). The feet on the burner/stand are filled with cork. There is a slight rocking to the base as the cork has not worn evenly (see image 18). All items are sold as-is where-is. With all faults and errors.
