Martha Mirabal (Santa Clara, b. 1946), highly polished black ware lidded vessel, the body carved with buffalo, the lid surmounted with standing buffalo. The base signed Martha Mirabal. Approx. height 8 in., width 8 in. Note: Martha Mirabal is the daughter of the famous potter Maria I. Naranjo. Maria was best known for her highly polished blackware figurines. Martha continues the tradition of making blackware pottery bowls and figures.
