Important Asprey of London custom and one of a kind sterling silver presentation centerbowl with flower arranger. The leafy repousee and reticulated lid with central handle having a portrait of Grellet C. Simpson (American, 1956-1974), President of Mary Washington College 1956 – 1974, engraved around the side of the handle "GRELLET C. SIMPSON AWARD". The footed bowl having a gold vermeil interior engraved around the bowl PRESENTED TO SIDNEY H. MITCHELL FOR EXCELLENCE IN UNDERGRADUATE TEACHING ~ MARY WASHINGTON COLLEGE 1973. The underside of lid hallmarked for sterling. The underside of bowl stamped MADE IN ENGLAND with Asprey of London and other hallmarks.
