Special solid silver and intaglio cut glass compote by Henri Lapeyre of Paris in the Neoclassical Louis XVI style having a scalloped rim decorated with cut floral and ribbons and terminating in a 16 point starburst set in a fluted socle base resting for four leafy feet headed with cabochon. Silver base is hallmarked with Mercury head mark used for French export – .950 standard as well as the maker’s mark of a spoon between two crescents and initials. Approx. height 5.25", diameter of top 10.5". Note: Henri Lapeyre was active from 1895-1923 of 49 rue Meslay, Paris.
