Chinese, 1930’s. Large art deco style rug, hand woven, indigo blue field decorated with flying phoenix and precious objects, the yellow gold border further decorated with auspicious symbols, bats and butterflies. Possibly Nichols. Approx. 12′ x 8’10".

Condition: Wear to pile. Areas of white knotting and minor insect damage (moths). Minor fading/bleeding – not distracting. Some fraying to edges. Would benefit from professional cleaning as there is light soiling. Wear is commensurate with age and usage.
