Wales & McCulloch Ladies 18K Pocket Watch, open face. Back interior cover stamped with Minerva head and engraved FINE GOLD/18K/E/81568. Front of dust cover inscribed Examined by Wales & McCulloch 56 Cheapside, London. Back of dust cover engraved CUIVRE 81568. Approx. overall weight 41.42 grams. Note: Wales & McCulloch ‘next door to bow church’ watchmakers and retailers of repute, suppliers of many Deck Watches to the Admiralty, an ‘explorers watch’ to the Royal Geographical Society, and 1st Prize winners of the Greenwich Trial for centre-seconds chronometers (a tourbillon) in 1914.
