Leo Koch(American, 1917-1982), Old Barn – Spruce Pine, N.C., oil on canvas, signed lower right. Titled verso. Framed approx. 43 x 30.5 in., unframed 24 x 36 in. Note: Leo Koch was a biologist, activist, and nature artist. Koch gained notoriety after his expulsion from his position at the University of Illinois for his advocating of premarital sex in 1960. Koch was also an activist who participated in the anti-war, civil liberties, civil rights, and other counter-culture movements.
